So, after several reviews for Cannabitoix and their many exquisite flower strains that I have written about, we finally land on one of the absolute showstoppers: Casino Kush.
I had intended to review this flower far earlier than this, but forces conspired in a way that I have not been able to share anything of its incredible healing, therapeutic qualities until now.
First of all, let’s take things back to around four years ago when I first discovered CBX. I had tried two of their older strains, Wi-Fi OG, and Tropicanna (quite frankly the best sativa flower you will ever find and I will try to explore here one day soon), quite extensively – I would love to have written about the former one because it is so unique in its own right, but it unfortunately is no longer available.
I eventually got my hands on a jar of Casino Kush at a local dispo, and it seemed very unlike these two aforementioned strains straight away at first glance. The buds tumbled out of the jar in a certain way – big, thick but airy buds with the most alluring golden hue. I got a buzz almost just from that one split second moment. This flower couldn’t be as good as it looked, there was no way I mused to myself. But I was completely wrong, it was not as good as it looked – it was better.

When prizing apart its achingly fat Indica buds, which are almost cube-like in appearance, and so dense in their frost-like trichomes you can get lost in the sparkle just looking at them, one finds almost every color of the weed rainbow in here – lime greens, darker shades of green, electrified with incredible orange pistils like flames against a psychedelic green sunset, with a smattering of purple thrown in for good measure. It’s just an absolute joy to behold and look at and break down by hand before the smoking starts.
A quick note on this: I like to use nail scissors to trim my bud down for a bowl or a joint as opposed to a grinder. I have always stood firm in this belief, because I can scrape every single bit of the flower from the blade, the exact opposite of how a grinder works, so that every trichome of the flower remains intact, and the kief is present too, allowing for what I consider to be a more complete and holistic smoking experience. A grinder is really a very easy option to use, and like many things which provide shortcuts to difficult manual labor, it is neither rewarding nor able to offer a similarly robust experience. So go get yourself some good nail scissors and give it a try. You will throw the grinder away quickly afterwards I can assure you.
But, aside from that, I think that nature intended for us to actually experience flower with our hands, to get it under our nails, to really dig into it and explore what it has to offer. You will find you also don’t get any of the delicious bouquet of the bud, like missing out on the aroma of a fine wine, before you ingest it. Please bear this in mind when dealing with bud of any kind, it doesn’t matter what the cost, and often that will be how you tell the quality of a flower to begin with.
I have a very vivid imagination, as you might be able to tell from reading my articles, and one thing I love is the effort Cannabiotix also puts into the artwork which adorns their jars. Often, it tells me its own story and my mind will drift into the artist’s who designed it, bringing about a new and abstract idea for why it came to exist.

As you see from this one, Casino Kush is illustrated, as you might expect, with a cheeky slot machine, gambling chips flying out of it and so forth. It is actually one of my favorites. I like to imagine the idea behind why CBX cultivated this flower, because the company originated in Las Vegas –perhaps it was intended for the croupier, tired from dealing to anxious players all day long, to enjoy and help their relaxation at home after the shift.
Or, could it be for the losers at the tables, commiserating on lost fortunes; and equally, the winners, celebrating their newly-amassed loot? I like to think of it ultimately as this: if you’re lucky enough to find this flower, then you’ve hit the jackpot. It contains flavors I love most in a flower which come through as clear as day – notes of rich skunk, classic OG note, so strong it’s almost manure-like, topped off with just a touch of diesel gas, just incredible to behold.
The thick and heavy smoke is extremely expansive and Indica-like, and is equal in displaying its awesome power across the mind and body. Casino Kush became my go-to long ago, and if we are being honest I gave up on their strains because this is more consistently reliable in the type of medication I am looking for. It has the X Factor, the je-ne-sais-quois, the magic ingredient, that goldie-locks type of experience that you can only hope to find on the high street.
I was quite hesitant to share any of this with the world because I think it’s such a well-kept secret in cannabis, but I feel that others out there would benefit from the types of ailments it helps me to address – anxiety, depression, muscle pains, acute stress, insomnia and well, life in general. It’s an absolute thunderstorm of a flower, a stomper, that will take you down regardless of how heavy of a toker you are, and the likes of which we may not see again in the commercial cannabis market after it is gone.
I do not think I need to say any more, it’s time to go and find out for yourselves.
