Half of Americans are living with gastrointestinal symptoms! One major contributing factor to poor gut health is minor head trauma. You may be asking yourself, have I had head trauma? Well chances are you have. Studies show that 77% of drivers have been in at least one car crash, and it only takes a crash at 5mph to sustain minor head trauma. And 1 out of 4 have suffered a concussion.

I have first-hand experience, as an ex pro hockey player and body builder about head injuries and how it contributes to not only to chronic pain, but to gut inflammation. CBD helps to alleviate all of it, from pain to restoring gut health.

How is this all connected?

Following a head injury, the brain itself becomes inflamed, which then leads to inflammation in the gut. This happens in an accelerated way, within hours, and causes damaging changes in the permeability of your intestines.

CBD derives many of its therapeutic benefits from the indirect activity at the CB1 receptor (located on nerve cells in the brain, spinal cord, endocrine glands, and gastrointestinal and urinary tracts). Activation of the CB1 receptor by cannabinoids improves nutrient absorption, reduces excess stomach acid and queasiness, and affects intestinal mobility (movement of the digestive systems and its contents).

CBD has shown to increase the balance of good bacteria and our gut flora is responsible for digestion of food and extracting the nutrients contained therein. Additionally, your gut flora is vital is generating immunity, as well as synthesizing various vitamins and neurotransmitters, such as Vitamin B, and k, serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, GABA, and short-chain fatty acids.

Finally, CBD has shown to have therapeutic effects on a variety of receptors that exist throughout the gut, and these receptors influence many different gut-related processes. Thus, CBD and other cannabinoids directly affect every aspect of gut health, digestion, and metabolism.

To help understand the biomarkers of your chronic pain, I analyze auto-immune dysfunction of the brain, gut, muscles, and joints and based on the clinical findings I provide a specific combination of CBD isolates as home care. This approach allows for a higher level of successful treatments, and the patient gets their health and life back.

In my next article, I will be discussing the benefits of CBD on sports performance.
You deserve to be healthy!!
