Here is one of my favorite heavyweight Indica strains, GM Uh-Oh, by my favorite brand Cannabiotix. One can instantly see the quality and density of the nug structure, short and stocky which are typical traits of a high quality Indica flower – this should help you identify your flower visually when you’re out shopping. Sativa, just for reference, will take on the appearance of longer, more finger-shaped buds.
To describe GM Uh-OH successfully, one has to look to the roots of the GMO flower itself. An acronym for Garlic, Mushroom and Onion, I was first very confused by the name, as it seems a lot of other buyers have been.
My research revealed that the strain has polarized smokers, partly because it is confused with genetically modified plants. It probably didn’t help matters when the brand followed the release of GM Uh-Oh in 2022 with an extraordinarily spicy cross of this strain’s parent genetics and their Cereal Milk strain, called Modified Milk. Could this be a case of Cannabiotix subtly trolling of the community, I wonder?

Those thoughts aside, this flower is a behemoth. It packs all the flavor you would expect from a GMO, containing notes and aromas of the assorted vegetables mentioned above, and funy body odor, but those who are familiar love GMO becase it also has a mysteriously warm and inviting quality to it, along with its seductively powerful side.
I am fairly certain that much of the bud smoked in the old days must have some links to GMO lineage, as there is just something unmistakably pleasing and nostalgic to the smoking experience.
The problem CBX now faces is that they have strayed into the area of quantity vs. quality. There are just too many strains to choose from, and they don’t all vary differently from the next one enough. It reminds me of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, where Gordon Ramsay is tasked with explaining to the restaurant owners that their 57-page menu is just offering too much choice with too little variety.

Whittle it back down to where we were a few years ago guys, focus on making a few really great strains instead of tons of quite good ones, and I think we’ll be in much better shape.
Effects-wise, expect heavy sedation, with the feeling of limbs taking on weight, floating in space, very good for relaxation and getting to sleep but can be used during the day too. It’s also quite cerebral and allowed my thoughts to drift freely across the galaxy. Interestingly when this flower first came out two years ago it was testing at very high 37%, now it has dropped to around 26%.
I would love to see Cannabiotix revive its Modified Milk and Grape Gasby strains this year, as they are two of their most outstanding flowers which seem to have all but disappeared from their lineup.
Dr. StrainLove is a long time lover of fine weed and is always hunting for the latest and greatest strains. His search has taken him from the Coffeeshops of Amsterdam to the boutique dispensaries of California, and lots of other places in between. He loves making music, playing video games, and using marijuana to ponder the mysteries of the universe. When he’s not doing those things, he enjoys spending time with his cat.
